Related: I’m still looking for leads and help on jobs, fellowships, and freelance contracts on drones, GIS, aid, disaster, OSINT, tech ethics, and journalism. I simply will not work for evil people and/or weapons manufacturers, which is also why I haven’t had paying work since Trump 2.0 began.

Drone tech has so many incredible applications for so many industries and if you want to make any sort of living you have to work for an illiterate Nazi pervert dweeb who collects erotic anime figurines.

The only thing I know of in this category is NASA's Rangehawk program where they've gotten a couple RQ-4s from the Air Force and reworked them for scientific use.

There has been a vast amount of effort and work around using small drones for aid and science since 2013 (that used to be my career). Unfortunately there is now a serious lack of funding in that area.

Oh sorry I meant projects that I was personally familiar with as a lead to look into. I've done some work in the past with Rangehawks.

I was on the contractor side doing software engineering but basically they use them to observe what a rocket is doing during a test flight. It's mainly during times where what you can get from just surveying it from the ground or only internal sensors isn't enough.

I know they currently use it for Artemis tests but since some project money tie ups I haven't gotten to work further with it so my current knowledge is limited.
