Thinking about how TTYD got a simultaneous Switch and Gamecube soundtrack release on Nintendo Music, probably because the remake also includes the original soundtrack. I hope they'll eventually do that for other games with similar remakes.

As far as the Mario RPGs are concerned, every one of the remakes also included the original soundtracks, so I'll be #sad if any of them get added with only one or the other.

Mostly thinking about this just because the majority of tracks added to NinMusic are games that are still officially accessible, but for some games like Superstar Saga, only the original version is and not the remake... so would that game's soundtrack be added based on that?

I think the remake being a Switch game is the deciding factor above all else. They wanted to add the TTYD remake, so they included the original because it'd be somewhat weird to only have the remake, but that doesn't really apply in the other direction. It's not all that strange that they added

Majora's Mask without Majora's Mask 3D, or Metroid II without Samus Returns, but if they added just the Switch remakes of a Famicom Detective Club game or the 3DS remake of Superstar Saga it'd be kind of odd, no? Also, of the 146 games on Nintendo Music right now, only 28 aren't playable on Switch.

That's what I mean. Superstar Saga for example is playable on Switch, but it's only the original, not the remake. So in that case, would they only add the original soundtrack and not the remake's which includes both?

I believe so, unfortunately. I mean who knows, maybe they'll throw us a bone, but they do tend to avoid going the extra mile where they feel they can get away with it (such as reusing CD releases even in cases where there are a number of issues with them).
