#vndev I'm enlisting your help - what do I name this tool? What will describe what it does + make you want to take a look? It can do falling particles of all kinds, and also smoke, fireflies, raindrop splashes, and more. BG: Vic Alen, Our Life: Now & Forever Leaves: @kigyodev.com (included w/tool!)

I'm having a little too much fun making examples 😂 You can specify "origin points" for particles, which makes effects like smoke and sparks coming from a campfire possible! BG from maciaz.itch.io/14-fantasy-b...

I think it’d be good to mention SnowBlossom so people know exactly what it’s meant to be improving upon! Something like “SnowBlossom+ Ren’Py Particle System” ? “System” would also imply a lot of flexibility and customization options

So far, what you've mentioned is all in the context of environmental vfx. I'd personally include the word "environment" or "environmental" in it. And then any synonyms for that word, you can add in whatever platform's tagging system.

📝Good point! Even if I don't include that exact phrasing, it'll help to include in the description and tags. I think I do want to include "particles" over "vfx" since it's specifically a particle system rather than more general effects. I'll play around with "environmental"!

Oh yeah, then I'd definitely use "particles" in the title if it's more accurate. As you said, it's the name of the system. Anything else about your tool that makes it stand out from similar ones? One more adjective in the title might do it. I'm tempted to say "dynamic", but what made you make this?

Ren'Py's Particle system, while functional, is extremely hands off customization-wise + SnowBlossom has some major flaws--unintended particle count cap, wave effects, etc. This tool expands on what's there + adds loads more customization so it's easy to have performant weather fx and other particles

hmmmmm... i think it might be good to name it something *related* to Snowblossom, so that people searching for better solutions to things Snowblossom can't quite do as well will stumble across it. like... like... my first thought was "ooooh this looks like Advanced Snowblossom"

It *is* built off SnowBlossom! I'm sure those who are familiar will look for it under that, but "SnowBlossom" isn't very discoverable for someone asking "how do I make rain in Ren'Py". Plus, it does a lot more than just moving particles across the screen! It's tricky to find the right term for both

yeah, now that i think about it more, that might not be as discoverable as i thought. it has so many potential applications... probably partly going to be a game of jam-packing the description with keywords but a name for everything it can do... hm. i will continue to twirl the question in my brain
