Shotgun pellets disperse and fall fairly safely (as compared to bullets, at least), but the lead is pretty bad for the environment. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...

the drones themselves are heavy and the batteries are flammable, and you can't control where all that goes once it's damaged
