Yeah! To make up for the Federal Government firing these essential people that do the research & science that solve problems. Somebody has to do this work bc all our lives depend on them. Finding cures for disease, expanding crop yields, protecting forests from over harvest, keeping tabs on ocean/1

Life, monitoring weather hazards, watching for asteroid & space debris impacts, geologists, astrophysisists, oceanographers are part of a team that monitors & addresses concerns as they develop. They are a lifeline to averting disaster And someone has to enable them to carry on their work. /2

California is investing in its future and the rest of the country will eventually see it. Mean while in Fly Over Missouri, education funding remains flat.

If blue states kept the money they pay into the federal government in their own coffers they could afford free HC and two years of free Collage for the people in the states. Why are blue states paying for red state welfare and dismantled departments like FEMA, DOE, etc.

Caliyos slowly splitting away from the fed govt. It's doing things only a country would do. It's time to move on. Louisiana shouldn't determine what happens to us.

In an era of rapid change, this is what long-term thinking looks like: building the capacity to solve tomorrow’s problems today. 3/

If approved, it could turn public universities into even stronger engines of innovation, talent, and breakthrough ideas that don’t just serve California, but ripple across the world. 2/

A $23B investment in California’s university research system would be a bold bet on the future — not just funding labs, but accelerating discovery in medicine, climate science, AI, and clean energy. 1/

California could literally secede from the union and become its own progressive, prosperous and educated nation. The understanding of the critical need for research leading to life-changing solutions is a huge priority. The lack of our current admin's awareness for that need is an epic failure.

Once again we must call on voters of California to lead !! Thank you! I hope McKensie Scott sees this and also assists. Screw the endowments of Ivy League- they proved to be cowards—- give $ to the UC system- dollar for dollar best investment to our future!

The economic damage caused during Green Party politician Robert Habeck’s time in office continues to be felt in Germany to this day. Even after his departure from the government, Germany continues to suffer the consequences of his disastrous energy and economic policies.

Why did the California legislature betray its citizens by failing to use their supermajority to enact single-payer healthcare when it recently came up for a vote? Everyone with a D next to their name isn’t on your side. Name, shame, and primary the hell out of those who didn’t deliver a yes vote.

Investing in education and research is investing in the future. This could open the door to major breakthroughs, innovation, and opportunities for generations to come.

More and more I'm feeling like states, cities, counties, etc.... should do more things like this instead of relying on the federal government, which we now know is very fickle.

Hopefully, the universities will own the patents, and when this corporations come and take that research so they can make money out of these research, universities will own a substantial part of the money made from these research and not the shareholders

Well then, the Epstein class wouldn't have to donate so much. Will tuition go down? will they pay the grad students appropriately? These institutions make so much fucking money they should have to fund research on behalf of the voter.

If you want to cheer, Sen. Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) submitted the bill. Even if Newsom signs it, it just puts up a ballot initiative that conservatives will spend huge $ to try to convince voters it steals food from their children.

It should be paid for by redirecting Californians’ fed taxes directly to our State until we get some good faith federal representation.
