Here's a bit of #gamedev that was a nightmare but now I'm really proud of the results. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognized chess as a sport in 2000. However, it hasn't been included as a medal event in the Olympics... until now. #chess #olympics

One of the conceits of this game is that each polity can only field 10 athletes at once, so an athlete that did Uneven Bars yesterday might be asked to interrupt their marathon prep to play a tournament of chess or go or shogi. It was fun designing the games to be interesting AND without ties.
