so excited to get this in folks' hands and to see what people build with it! it’s been a lot of work getting here & i'm proud of where it's at check it out, bang on it, break it, see where it doesn't work. let's make sure this is something we're all excited about & can take pride in building on

atproto.comThe Atproto Spaces Alpha is LiveAtproto Spaces, formerly known as “the permissioned data protocol,” is a new extension to atproto that enables non-public data. The alpha is now officially open. Here’s how to develop with it and what to expect as we work towards the full release.

Or is this login only supported for accounts hosted on Bluesky PDS? (if so that should be mentioned) My account is on @altq.net if that matters? If I read the announcement correctly, I need to run the alpha reference PDS with spaces support myself for this?

no i'm able to login with my self-hosted acccount does your account generally work with other apps' oauth? you don't need to run a PDS if you just want to make an account on the Bluesky-hosted one (if we can unblock you on this)

Yep. I have a long list of OAuth sessions and regularly annoy new-ish services when they do not support did:web, e.g. here -> bsky.app/search?q=fro... They usually get fixed quickly, often false assumptions are the case, see here ->

If anyone wants to see why this specific did:web couldn't log in. TL;DR bsky handle resolver returns the wrong DID from a stale index. Now I use the authoritative source.

well in the mean time, these are "tied to" your account in any deeply meaningful way, so you can generate an invite with your PLC account thanks for flagging 🙏
