The result of trying to update my @seeedstudio.com Meshtastic Tracker L1 Pro using the instructions in their own wiki is that it does not work, and nothing even manifests in a device file even when using their reset procedure. 100% bricked.

The garbage @meshtastic.org instructions for the Seeed Meshtastic L1 should be updated to cover the risk of instantly bricking your new device, as it seems this is commonplace with a quick google. What a garbage ecosystem when new stuff just bricks.

Wio Tracker L1 Pro. There is nothing via USB after following the documented flashing procedure, no device files in /dev after giving it a very long time and re-plugging. Think it's dead, don't want another exact one of these after finding a fair number of other people bricking them doing same thing.

Are you using linux? Have you added the user to the dial out group? That could be the issue. If not the case, rather strange issue. If you're open to joining our discord, many in there would be happy to help get you sorted. Sorry for the troubles!

Linux is present here but I think this one needs J-Link (or whatever it’s called for nRF) to recover as it’s really dead. May pop in to discord thanks.

Also thanks, I was out of characters. I made my own little fork and can run off a esp32-c6 and a sx1262 until this gets worked out.

I should say I was just trying to update the firmware on the new device as it was old. It did briefly work until I realised it was old and decided to update. I did the reset button dance and so on too. Oh well...
