Senate Minority Leader Jones II is demanding that Governor Kemp extend the gas tax holiday: “Georgia Republicans love Donald Trump’s reckless war. And they don’t care that you are paying for it at the gas pump. Why else would Governor Kemp kill the gas tax holiday at midnight tonight?

“Mayor Bottoms is absolutely right. We must extend the holiday. Governor Kemp and his Republican cronies rushed to cut $300 million for a tax cut that even the bill author said wasn’t for the middle class.

“That $300 million would’ve funded stronger public safety, created more affordable health care, helped rural hospitals stay open, given seniors better caregiving options, housed homeless veterans, fed hungry children, and protected victims of domestic violence.
