Georgia Senate Democrats

🚨 Donald Trump just told us that he wants to steal elections. America doesn't work that way. The President and his Epstein Class buddies don't pick and choose who wins elections. The People do. *That* is how America works.

Just days after America's 250th birthday, the President shared an un-American plan to steal elections and destroy the very idea that gives this country life. Believe him. We saw him try on January 6, 2021. He will do it again.

We are saddened by the passing of Larry Pellegrini, a giant of Georgia's progressive movement in Georgia. Larry was a pioneer of LGBTQ+ advocacy at the Capitol and has shaped generations of organizers and leaders under the Gold Dome.

Through his work with the Georgia Rural Urban Summit and other partnerships across the state, he showed everyone around him the importance of building coalitions and relationships.

Senate Minority Leader Jones II is demanding that Governor Kemp extend the gas tax holiday: “Georgia Republicans love Donald Trump’s reckless war. And they don’t care that you are paying for it at the gas pump. Why else would Governor Kemp kill the gas tax holiday at midnight tonight?

🚨 Minority Leader Harold Jones II released the following statement on the gubernatorial primary: "Congratulations to Mayor Bottoms, the 2026 Democratic nominee for Governor. Our Caucus will do everything we can to elect her Governor.

“Georgia, here's your choice. Two rich Republicans are fighting over who gets to buy the Governor's Mansion to enrich themselves and their donors. And Democrats will fight for lower costs, more affordable health care, lower electric bills, and protecting your right to vote.

🚨Senate Minority Leader Harold Jones II released the following statement today on Governor’s Kemp’s call for special session: "If Republicans ever used their power to help Georgians, they wouldn't have to waste time and money redrawing the maps every few years to keep their majorities.

“Let's sum it up for everybody. The biggest bloc of middle and working class voters are Black people. When Republicans strip Black people's political power away, it doesn't just strip one community of power.

"June will be our third redistricting since 2021. Republicans need to undo their last gerrymander because it wasn't good enough to keep their waffling political party in power.

🚨Senate Minority Leader Jones II endorses Laura Murvartian for State Senate District 48:

“I am thrilled to endorse Laura for SD-48. Her life story shows the incredible promise of this country: her family immigrated to the United States when she was 8 years old, and now, one generation later, Laura has raised her own beautiful family, worked at major Fortune 500 companies,
