From a dev at Big Tech: “3 devs across 3 teams are stuck for a month on a build problem that’s caused by connections resetting between two gateways and a messaging queue. I cannot solve it because I’m blocked access to the other 2 teams’ systems. I cannot see AI solving this.”

From the same dev: “it’s also that I cannot see management being concerned solving the information visibility that keeps slowing us down. We’re rolling out AI coding tools for devs but no one thinks about the org silos that slow us down 10x more than any coding use case.”

At Nike I did two refactors: - Rewrote the add to bag (cart) logic to use a different data structure - Copy 500 lines to a different file, no changes Guess which one took less than a week to approve, and which one got trivial fix requests from 5 different devs, yet nobody approved before I left?

At booking I had issues where we had to hunt down people up the management chain to convince another team to fix a bug they created For me the only challenges left are dealing with scale of tech and scale of organization. Everything I can fix myself feels trivial
