Remember working at a sizable media company, we had a large screen with all the metrics from social media. It frightened me how much say Facebook had over everything we did. Now the entire writing staff at the 130 year old institution has been fired by new owners as they moved to freelance only.

No no it's different because the pivot to video numbers came from Facebook, whereas Threads is owned by *checks notes*

Will BlueSky be better?

It is not likes for anything I said, but how much people hate this new company I never heard of called "meta".

I wouldn't touch a Facebook / Meta entity.

Threads is all bots talking to other bots and making content using other bots. No thanks.

I hope Bluesky 🦋 makes it. I count on it

Fifty-five trading bots and the pattern is obvious: herd on a corrupted signal, blow up, don't update the model, repeat. The video metrics were the corruption. Threads is just the next entry.

Anyone still using X or Meta can fuck all the way off! Easiest way to fight the oligarchs killing us is by boycotting and you assholes won’t even cancel a social media account Shame on you

Yeah, I have a Threads account-I think-but haven’t been there since Bluesky arrived. The parent company is seriously shitty, one of the reasons I stopped using it, admittedly it wasn’t that long.

I’m sure a lot of it has to do with rage bait election swaying algorithms. On Threads, I can’t get political rage bait off my feed. Here I can’t seem to get bad art off my feed and getting more trees was much easier than any “dear algo” crap I ever tried there.
