ChitChat is now out for retail! Done a bunch of testing in raid/keys/arena, and it all works. As you can see by this video of the corner of my screen mid-arena, the fading and animation functionality all work mid-instanced combat. If you do encounter any problems, drop them on GitHub or Curseforge.
