Again, I'm not the boss of you, but if you're a journalist who has to report on what billionaires say, please consider NOT writing "[billionaire] will do [whatever]" and instead write "[billionaire] claims he will do [whatever]."

(Context: I doubt Musk *will* actually rebrand Twitter today! I could be wrong! But just because someone *says* they're gonna do something is not a requirement to report that it will actually happen!)

Also too: I realize that often this may be more of a note for headline writers & their supervisors than the folks actually writing the stories.

I've only rarely gotten to write my own headlines. I had the freedom to do so with my Media Watch column in the 90s for a small, indy feminist newspaper. Also wrote most of my own headlines for FAIR's media crit magazine, Extra! in early 2000s. But headers for corporate outlets? Almost never.

So far, Musk doing the dumbest thing possible has been the safe bet. That's the trend I expect to see continue. Though having to walk it back two days later is absolutely within the realm of possibility.
