Relatedly, did I mention I'm an "A.i." abolitionist? Because I'm an "A.i." abolitionist. bsky.app/profile/greg...
I'm an "A.i." abolitionist. No consumer-facing LLMs or generative "A.i." in anything. Sure, machine learning in science and a few other limited applications is fine. But consumer-facing LLMs and generative "A.i." that are based on theft, push disinfo, and can be manipulated by billionaires? No.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: @dylanreeve.com has noticed that the language including the "machine learning" and "publicly display" phrases are NOT in the US TOS - just in the TOS for folks OUTSIDE of the US. See below for a link to the US TOS. bsky.app/profile/dyla...

For what it's worth, here's what looks to me to be the relevant section in the Dropbox TOS. Seems very different from the WeTransfer language. www.dropbox.com/terms
ENORMOUS UPDATE: bsky.app/profile/bagp...
It would appear that WeTransfer have now vastly simplified their terms document to remove the stuff about machine learning. But the date at the top still says it was last updated on June 23.
If I am reading it correctly, it seems that now both US and non-US terms are changed to remove the 'commercializing' license and machine learning stuff. On archive.org we can see that the terms earlier had the offending text for both US and non-US.
