@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social and Rawa Duwaji on Inauguration Day, January 1, 2035, NYC City Hall! More pictures coming soon - I took a bunch and everyone was beautiful! Happy New Year, friends. We're gonna win.

whoops 2025 of course

Bernie got HUGE cheers and inspired loud "Tax the rich!" chants.

"TAX THE RICH! TAX THE RICH! TAX THE RICH!"

Lucy Dacus sang "Bread and Roses."

Rama Duwaji and her date, I think his name is Zohran? Also @jumaane.bsky.social!

@jumaane.bsky.social spoke incredibly movingly. I appreciate that he always talks about immigrant rights and trans rights. A city for everyone. He got choked up when speaking to a "Black boy 49 years ago" - himself. Telling him that it would all be all right. I teared up.

* okay, 2026. right? right. whew.

more later!

@jumaane.bsky.social asked that if people feel willing, they should hug the person next to them. And some people did!

@newyorkstateag.bsky.social Tish James at the Mamdani inauguration.

@sanders.senate.gov and Jane Sanders at the Mamdani inauguration. Sadly, Bernie's mittens were a little boring this time lol.

Another shot of Rama Duwaji and her date.

What a gorgeous couple. White House, here we come!

Look I'm trying not to valorize politicians too much these days... but they're adorable.
