I cancelled Microsoft 365 and switched to stand-alone installations like this just over a year ago. Biggest drawback as far as I can tell is that in October 2026, Microsoft will stop providing security updates for Office 2021. support.microsoft.com/en-us/office...

I've been reading about a service called 0Patch that's currently providing zero day security patches for Office 2016 and 2019, which are no longer supported by Microsoft. Does anyone know about or use 0Patch and have opinions about its own security/safety? maketecheasier.com/zero-day-pat...

Not personally familiar with 0patch, but I’d feel safer upgrading to another standalone version of Office, such as 2024. Some thoughts from the Reddit tech community: www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/s...
