Unironically, this is because the transit isn't good enough. I have spent many days in NYC running around two or three boroughs, doing tons of stuff.

There’s still too much fun stuff going on in NYC to do all of it, despite great transit. A mark of a true city is having too many cool things happening simultaneously, that you have to choose.
