On the other hand the WHOLE POINT of an icon is to distill meaning down into small easy to comprehend picture. The other day's icon of cards might qualify (depends on what it links to, of course), this one seems less so. Thank you kindly

This statement feels very wrong. What exactly does the spellbreaker icon tell me about the spec? Or the dragonhunter? We have just as many non-sense spec icons as we have any that tell us, something, maybe, in context of the game and when we already know what they do.

You were TAUGHT what they do, slowly and badly. New players spend lots of time when they have no idea which icon goes with which spec (or even which NAME). Thank you kindly.

I mean, not really? An icon is meant to clearly represent a thing... but without context on what it's representing, we can't know the details. Once we know what it is, they should make perfect sense.

ok to the credit of Wolfskin these are the icons of some of the previous specs I do agree that if you set those icons in the manner that is being presented, I would have no idea what they signify. and that's because the ideas presented are not something we can associate with in our own reality.
