Thank you all for the feedback here. GenAI for coding is indeed bad as well. Coding is also a form of art (algorithm, games); There's concerns regarding learning in the future (both for future engineering and as human beings) as well the unsustainable methods that companies are using right now.

I don't see a problem with using GenAI for coding specifically, with some caveats, because its training is different compared for pictures and music but I'm open for chatting here, Discord or email if you have some specific concern. It's difficult to tell all my thoughts in 280 chars, I'm sorry.

You're a good guy. Conversation and openness to others views is so important. I got what you were trying to say but I think you've made the right choice.

Oh hell yeah, love to see SNES SA1 conversions made by humans On that note, ngl Trials of Mana SA1 is definitely on my wishlist, so to speak. Great game but kind of pushes the SNES to its limits, it doesn't run great often

On top of what people have said (thanks for reacting well, even to rough feedback. It is a sensitive topic.) Since the training involves ingesting (and stealing I would say) massive amounts of code a corporation normally wouldn't have access to, This poses massive legal issues.

Like usage of such things I feel... are not tools. Because what tools (in any field) could expose you to plagiarism and breach of license ? When using those, you just don't know if the code comes from a commercial entity that might discover bits of their code in a project and pursue litigation
