I've noticed the finish on the helmet isn't quite as durable as I thought it would be with rustoleum clear coat... I read polyurethane is better, but I'm nervous changing it now that it's done.. Anyone able to impart some knowledge? I've got a test plate printing

How many passes of the clear coat did you do? Aerosol? Polyurethane is great but you need at least 3 passes for long-term water resistance (as an example depending on what you’re trying to protect against).

7 coats of Rustoleum Ultra 2x clear coat. I'm just looking to prevent scratches. The rattle can paint is more Hardy than the acrylics, but both are scratching and wearing poorly already.

Im curious to hear how it goes. I think the biggest issue is going to be figuring out how the chemistry of something like a 2K urethane interact with the acrylic. Might need to redo the whole process on the test plate and bake it for a few hours to speed up the off-gassing.
