watching the shadow lord ff14 raid for myself just to see. castle zvahl is so fucking cool i'm leo pointing at the screen

the choice to have the shadow lord do saturday morning cartoon barks every 3 seconds is driving me crazy. raogrimm is an ice cold motherfucker he is not saying shit like "i will crush your bones"

he isnt talking about the galka at all hes just saying generic jrpg villain shit like "can your vaunted “justice” withstand the brunt of the deepest rancor and wrath" they're doing him so dirty

Every single one of his lines in FF14 is a direct quote from FF11.

sure i mean i do think just yelling i will crush your bones is lame i wasnt line checking every single thing. but to step back the thing that makes him work as a villain is that he seems like a generic fall to darkness guy but isnt at all, he has a very specific thing driving him

And there's no feasible way to suddenly stop the entire raid and have him do the Zeid speech to an audience that majority doesn't have context to what a galka is, nor should they, because part of the reason the raid exists is to say "Try FFXI!" and that's where you *should* get the whole story.
