I’ve seen it a couple of times now - Americans confused there are non-white players on the Swiss team because Switzerland didn’t do slavery. As apparently that’s the only possible explanation.

hearing this as someone who's in and out of rural new england a lot is making me feel like the joker. you can get a hands-on lesson for the part in settlers where it explains abolitionists were just a different variety of racist if you go look at the vermont demographics.
