I’ve seen it a couple of times now - Americans confused there are non-white players on the Swiss team because Switzerland didn’t do slavery. As apparently that’s the only possible explanation.

hearing this as someone who's in and out of rural new england a lot is making me feel like the joker. you can get a hands-on lesson for the part in settlers where it explains abolitionists were just a different variety of racist if you go look at the vermont demographics.

America's England banters suffers from being rooted in the civil war, an issue no one else cares about. Like at least have a chant about the Queen being dead.
