Yesterday my parents gave my kid an RC toy car and that reminded me to check up on the ones me and my brother had as kids. Found batteries inside the controller for one of my, no leakage. Then, I opened one of my brother's cars and saw this... Ooofff

At least I managed to make this switch flip again. For as long as I can remember, this thing never budged, not once, not ever.

Performed some maintenance on the controller and cleaned it up. Looks way better than before. It had years of caked on dust.

Also serviced the motor and the transmission gears.

Dug out the contacts to try and restore them.

Put them through white vinegar and evaporust baths. In the end, I decided I may as well scrap them. Put some new ones in.
