An Italian court just told Netflix the price hikes it pushed from 2017 to January 2024 were unlawful, ordered refunds, and said some users could get up to €500 back. Imagine opening the app and finding out the plot twist is consumer protection.

I dropped it. Pissed off for good this time. Things will shake out better for the consumers pretty soon but by then most folks figure out they don’t really even want it anymore.

That'll never happen here in the U.S. Here they have a license to rip off thier costumers and that's what they do. TIME TO BOYCOTT NETFLIX'S

I live in the USA so I cannot even imagine what this would be like 💔 I seriously hate it here now, I’m embarrassed all the time. I didn’t and would never vote for this lunatic or any of his republican psychos, but I still have to live with the consequences of everyone who did.

🏴‍☠️I don't get why people pay for this stuff. With the level of mass-spying going on, the most patriotic thing you can do is #pirate your media. When you pirate something, it comes in a permanent file that can't be stolen from you like the "content" you "own" when you buy it from them.

Since they feel it's fine to illegally backdoor our personal electronic devices, it destroys my motivation to pay for things. They'll never change their creepy behavior. They're not better than us just because they have more money that it's morally justifiable to cling onto. Yaaar

US customers will see the immediate price increases. Let's just pick a day. I'll call it. April 15. Everybody cancel your subscription. Even if it just for 1 day. Let's just try it, America needs an F U feel good day. #cancelnetflixdayApril15

Think the point is they didn't do it lawfully until 2025. Companies in the EU and the UK can't just hike their prices when they want without warning. It's called consumer protection. It's like what the US does for corporations but for people.

A judge made sure that ours stayed legal against the pedophiles wishes! So we still have our consumer protection agency, barely!

Let’s put this on top of that…While US monthly bills often exceed $100-$200, European households commonly pay €15-€35 ($16-$38) for similar services due to stronger regulations. We need to drop the eagle as our symbol and change it to the cow, cash cow.

Oddly enough during that time the biggest change I saw in Netflix service was the addition of commercials, which was what many people were paying to get away from in the first place. Hulu+ was the same in the beginning, pay for no commercials now they play commercials in all paid streaming services.

See, you say “consumer protections,” but in the US we’ve been educated to understand this as stifling regulation that hurts the very fabric of our nation. Morons believe it I guess. 🤷‍♂️

Well, considering the fact that Netflix is the last streaming platform not owned by the right-wing xtian psycho pedo billionaire Epstein class and they’re the only ones standing up to the orange moron, so if they want to charge more for their services, I’m in.

I’m a founder !! I was the first of my neighbors to rent movies on a red envelope through the mail, and I’m really upset, how much this has gone up

If you sign a contract to have a weekly pizza for $6, and then suddenly the same pizza becomes $19 on a unilateral decision without you signing an addendum to the contract, it's illegal.

So that's why prices went even higher in America they had to make up for what they lost to the Italians 😂 if only our government cared enough to protect us from companies like netflix

I've never been to a concert or bought tickets from ticket master for anything. Listening to music on the radio or from a CD is more than sufficient. Maybe you all should switch mediums and go back to the days when Ticketmaster and Netflix didn't exist. You don't need all this streaming shit

Not to mention how the platform changed. Streaming became popular and then legitimate because we got sick and tired of the bombardment of advertising. Then streaming sites added commercials. Then, they created program we couldn’t binge. Instead, we started paying for episodic tv with commercials!🤷🏾‍♂️

Exactly why I don't watch episodes more than 3 hrs. Its a motive to keep users hooked- most episodes get redundant anyways. I keep it to movies! Its ridiculous how they exchanged cable for this expensive crap of distraction!

We have about as much chance of that happening as Central Maine Power giving back the overcharges they imposed on Maine electricity users from 2017 to now..........ha ha ha. don't hold your breath, corporations are blood sucking creatures.
