For 15 years I've been obsessed with receipt printers and the protocols that they speak. I created an open-source encoder that can run in the browser can create receipts and send them to the printer. That turned into a whole project that is now used by dozens of products: point-of-sale.dev

I got a bit of a challenge for you, I own a Jadens brand thermal printer intended for shipping labels by the manufacturer, but I've yet to find an optimal image resolution for it to play nice with dithering to print a good grey tone, think you can help me out?

What I do for the receipt printers is do the dithering myself and send a pure 1-bit pixel image to the printer. I’ve written a library for that: www.npmjs.com/package/canv... The Atkinson algorithm works best in my opinion because it renders a bit lighter which compensates for the fatter print.

But it all depends on how you send data to the printer. If you print through a driver that usually gets in the way.

Either I can print through a driver via USB or Bluetooth on my model, so this might be a little tricky
