We were in a socialist society before Trump. Socialism is about the people Democracy is also about the people Democratic socialism is Medicare and Social Security

Yes, But the simplicity—and the potential for it to be transformed into a ‘dictatorial state’—poses a massive problem; we really have to admit that by now. The Constitution must be revised. The electoral system must be revised. A dictator like Trump should never stand up again into power. Never.

Socialism is not the government doing stuff, especially when it is doing stuff alongside massive private firms. Obama’s medicare program was doomed to fail because he never took it far enough. If you want universal healthcare, it has to be the only option. It can’t exist alongside private insurance.

Yes, if conservative, Republican fascists could ever work out if they oppose democracy because voters may disrupt the status quo in pursuit of "socialism" or because voters have already created status quo "socialism" and it must be eliminated, they might actually develop a coherent position.

And the FASCISM of maga (MOSCOW AGENTS GOVERNING AMERICA) and the G(ang) O(f) P(utin) is about serving and worshipping a CHILDISH, REVENGE MINDED BULLY with a fragile ego...

Subsidizing insurance companies and calling it healthcare isn't socialism. And capping payments into social security for wealthy people and limiting payments out to the neediest people isn't socialism either. Sounds like you're a bit confused

Any politician who tries to smear socialism should be asked if he wants to repeal Social Security. Trumpublicans always have wanted to repeal Social Security. This is why they tell young people it won't be there for them. And if Trumpublicans have their way, it really won't be.

You most definitely were not, especially not since Reagan scraped the last remainders of the New Deal. Even the Scandinavian countries, often called “socialist” from an American point of view, were at most social democrats in the best of times.
