Played with a steam engine toy circa 1950 today. Seems to run about 30Hz, based on the video feed capturing it as nearly still. The company that built this, Mamod, closed in 2024, after existing for almost 90 years.

I'm told they'll run on liquid nitrogen. It boils off just about quickly enough to make the engine slowly turn.
