This is what it looks like to govern in good faith for the people and I’m so jealous I can’t stand it.

Perfectly logical to me. The FBI model for finding experts...hire the criminal you've never been able to get your hands on.

I know through secondary experience that the best person in charge of drugs and alcohol rehabilitation is someone who was once an addict themselves. You hire people who've been through hell and came out of it, therefore the most qualified to know what they're dealing with

why they tried/try so hard to sandbag him

Mandami is the real fucking deal. We need 1000 more just like him.

Holy shit it’s refreshing. And it shows it CAN BE DONE.

he is the one spec of diamond in this great pedolithic pile of shit

And not (at least openly) talking yourself out of righteous fights because they “aren’t winnable”

This why he’s our GOAT. Actually believes in things. Doing more in his first few months than I’ve seen presidents do in their first four years.

Oh I'm SO happy about this. Rikers is a fucking Israel torture dungeon.

That was my first instinct too, but this is potentially different than tokenization/rainbow carceral state I think?

Cool stuff

This is absolutely wonderful! Thank you for this news.

Omg. This is amazing.

“Mamdani lies about all the things he says he can do!” Mamdani: *tries to do them* “Omg now he’s doing a sharia on us!”

Perfect!
