People just bad faith talking past each other. The point of that thread was that it can be useful, not denying that how its used or its consequences are not bad.

Thats true, but this stance is still rejecting the actual objective truth that ai is useful to many people. More power to you if you will never use it, but if you reject reality those people will not take seriously what you have to say.

I'm not rejecting the reality that some people are finding uses for it. But I don't think they are giving due consideration to the negative externalities it's causing for everyone else, and they might be taken more seriously if they did
