Yeah 12-15 hour night shifts. I was young though so didn’t destroy me entirely but felt pretty zombified most of the time. Moved on after 4 years.

God that is sickening

Meanwhile American devs lay off almost the entire production staff before the game hits it big so they don't have to pay them any bonuses or royalties from the game's success.

America you would get a pizza party (limit 2 slices per employee)

I can't tell. One way or the other. But ... that doesn't necessarily mean that there are no problems only because we haven't heard about them. I remain sceptic ...

Valve being the exception

Nah, they did a great job. Pizza party. Then, staff cuts.

I don't know how to feel about this because like.. it's.. Stellar Blade/Shift Up But then that's also better (For a company) than any Western org has been doing..

Appropriate course of action

How it should be

If only Activision was run like this.

Xbox gives the devs a Denny’s voucher

Fucking LIT, that sounds like a job well done.

Be creative, give gamers what they want, make money, reward staff. Rinse repeat.

That's how you retain talent.

America ☕

I know they are few and far between but the more stories we can get like this the better thank you for circulating

They have to spend that cash on the subscription.

Giving to the people that made it happen. ^5.

Now that's competitive pay!

It's a fun game but I feel like the melee is kinda weak as far as counter damage. It's just flashy regular damage lol

Sweet. I probably stay working for them.

Don't you mean, "Buys themselves another yacht and has a pizza party (2 slices limit each!) for the staff? Oh, wait. Not the US. Never mind.

Amazing! More US companies should follow suit

this is definitely a tonal shift from the usual "hey, great job making us a Game of the Year nominee! You're fired :)"

This CEO gets to live, me thinkies.

One of the best games of 2024.

This image isn't the same without Grummz crying in the corner and her saying "I'm woke!"

And then laid off anyway.

Definitely, just imagine all the pizza they could have gotten

Very cool! When I was CEO of startup Humu, after we signed our first big customer deal we gave every employee a $1,000 cash bonus. This is even better. :) More companies should share their success with their people.

I picked it up on the holiday sale, got a couple other games in my backlog ahead of it but looking forward

Wow. What a great employer.

Yes. Good energy!
