Until we are willing to what’s actually necessary these are largely performative morale boosters. I’ll come out. I won’t enter the implicit “funniest sign” contest. Because none of this is doing anything but make us white liberals feel good. Also giving our emails to all the Dem PACs.

In social movement studies, we talk about how marches and protests expand the threshold of acceptable risk so that people take more and bigger social risks IN PUBLIC, EN MASSE. This is extremely important for the bourgeois white folks holding signs and building social rapport.

We plan on joining our local No Kings protest regardless of the remedy to show our discontent. And we will be bringing my 83-year-old M.I.L to her very first protest! My forefathers fought 250 yr ago and I will continue the fight for our country.

I hope there are VOTER REGISTRATION booths at every single one of the #NoKings3 events. Because we need everyone of those protesters to be VOTING ON #NOV3rd. So we can flip the Majority in the U.S. House & Senate on #Jan3-2027, so the Dems can #DumpTrump in #Feb2027!
