A bitter lesson of frontend's lost decade is that no individual can fix what an entire culture is dedicated to breaking. There is no singular, virtuous person in a large org that can wield evidence effectively in the face of a tradition that rejects the scientific method.

More fool us, now no employer knows why you would want a browser tech/usability/design expert when AI can spit out react about as well as the devs they currently have.
