TIL the [AlternateResult] arg in SELECTEDVALUE() returns BLANK and not [AlternateResult] if a user has selected everything in the #PowerBI slicer who's column you are referencing. You need a COALESCE to catch this. =COALESCE ( SELECTEDVALUE ( SomeTable[SomeColumn], "FOOBAR" ), "FOOBAR" )
