Sorry, I don't do these. Happy to walk through my advanced Power BI projects in person, but I find tests like this dehumanizing, and often irrelevant to the position or tech stack I actually use.
Time to remind you of Bluesky's favourite Romanian language fact:
In Romanian, when someone throws stupid tantrums hurting their own interest just to be an a hole, we say they "hit their own testicles with an adze (carpentry tool).
The Romanian word for adze is Tesla.
🎵 Even old Libya
Is now called New Milan
Why they changed it I can't say
AI just liked it better that way
It’s Istanbull-shit, not Constantinople
Now It’s Istanbull-shit, not Constantinople
Been a short time wrong, Constantinople
Now its hallucinations

I think they should do a commercial where a guy is about to tell his kids a bedtime story and then his boss calls on the phone and is like "I need that report NOW, I'm meeting with the VP tomorrow" and the guy pushes an AI button and it says "third quartprer report sent!" and tells his kid a story
It was awesome having @wynhopkins.bsky.social present at last week's Vancouver #PowerBI and Modern Excel meet-up! He showed us how small improvements in workbook design, navigation, formatting, and automation can make a big difference to our #ExcelReports. 🤩

One of my favourite fun vinyl records for spooky season.
Nightmare Before Christmas, in the animated print edition. It's a double album and each side has a different set of little cute animations.
TIL the [AlternateResult] arg in SELECTEDVALUE() returns BLANK and not [AlternateResult] if a user has selected everything in the #PowerBI slicer who's column you are referencing.
You need a COALESCE to catch this.
=COALESCE ( SELECTEDVALUE ( SomeTable[SomeColumn], "FOOBAR" ), "FOOBAR" )
If I wrap a COALESCE around my SELECTEDVALUE measure to turn BLANK into -1 it returns TRUE consistently regardless of whether all Slicer items are unselected or all selected, as expected. But I don't understand why the COALESCE is needed, as SELECTEDVALUE should not return BLANK.

Actually I think a Type Coercion issue is being introduced by an IF statement that returns a numerical value (-1) if nothing is selected, otherwise passes through TRUE or FALSE as selected. A different branch of the IF is executed if slicer cleared vs all items selected. I don't understand why.

Trying to work out if it is possible to create "Analyze in Excel" templates based on #PowerBI semantic model that has RLS kick in in BEFORE the user views the file, and it seems the answer is "no". i.e. any user will see a "snapshot" of all the data until they enable content.
There are noble spreadsheets that keep entire companies afloat, maintained by a Janice that is the keystone of the whole company, and then there’s Jeff fucking around for insights a half hearted powerBI could illuminate.
You will be able to stay home, poster
You will be able to plug in, turn on and fascist out
You will be able to lose your mind on X and skip out for beer during Trumpcoin commercials
Because the execution will be televised.
Same vibe:
"I have a cue light I can use to show you when I'm joking, if you like."
Cooper: "That might help."
TARS: "Yeah, you can use it to find your way back to the ship after I blow you out the airlock." (cue light flashes)
The Sort By was there so I could have my Date field in the Columns part of a matrix show up in reverse order, so that most recent dates are on the left.
(There's no way to manually sort a Columns field in descending order because #PowerBI.)

I wonder if there is a pinocchio add out there somewhere which shows Drump’s nose growing to unbelievable lengths. Like, Artemis see it from the moon; voyager sees it rushing past as it grows; it smashes through other systems, then galaxies, then comes all the way back to Earth from the other side.
If I ran the Democratic Party ad campaigns, I would just air clips like this superimposed with the words “why does he think he can lie to you?” Or “does he think we believe this?”
