See, here's the thing: the Right, as a political entity, requires the existence of bonkers aggrieved persecution-pilled Christians, deeply xenophobic jagoffs, and millionaires who want tax cuts more than they want anything else in the world. And it's been this way since ~ 1980.

William F. Buckley praised "Camp of the Saints". This is not a new movement on the Right, and it doesn't have anything to do with anything the Left did. Regan's most unpopular move was immigration amnesty! The Right cannot *exist* as a functional party any more without rancid xenophobia.
