So, Chrome's "web standard" Prompt API: Mozilla: Opposed WebKit: Opposed Microsoft: Several concerns W3C TAG: Several concerns Developers: Mostly negative Chrome: Ships anyway. A sad time for web standards. But, I guess someone at Google will get promoted, so 'every cloud…'

The docs should be clearer that it's non-standard then. And maybe even note that it was shipped despite objections from Mozilla, Apple, Microsoft, and misrepresented developer interest to get LGTMs.

The former - sure. The latter - not sure it's info that needs to be emphasized in developer blogs. The important thing is how to use it and expectations re stability. Devs can make up their own minds and give their own feedback. prior objections are publicly available if they search for it.
