One distinctive feature of Trump's second term is that it's become impossible to differentiate when he's being stupid and when he's being mendacious. But on this it hardly even matters—his conduct on Ukraine in the last week alone would be grounds for impeachment in any functioning political system.

I would hope this man gets absolutely everything he deserves but I don’t see how we could fit it all in before the heat death of the universe

Trump said there was a ceasefire and that energy facilities would not be targeted. He now looks completely stupid. How can his advisers let him get it so wrong? Putin is taking the piss out of the US.

I'm long retired but see just the first paragraph here on catastrophic reactions helpdementia.com/how-to-manag... The Prez isn't there yet & might never be. But I suspect he lives in solipsistic fantasy world with difficulty distinguishing it from reality. Indeed it's not clear that he perceives=>2

1<= reality as we know it at all, but is rather caught up in a world of inner (persecutory) mental objects & some of that might account for the sudden policy shifts & attitudes. Honestly, I'm surprised he's holding it together at all really. It's also true that everyone allowing him to carry on=>3

If Vance takes over before January, he is only allowed to get reelected for one more term. After January, he could be President for 10 years. I reckon we have three more months before he suddenly notices Trump’s mental state.

Trump overrode a sanctions bill he himself signed into law – in the name of his recently dead friend – to buy diesel from a US adversary (one that's arming Iran), for short-term political advantage. At the same time, he stopped passing Ukraine intelligence to stop civilians getting hit by missiles.

The fact that more European allies are staying silent as that happens, even as they ignore their own Trump-like figures at home – just waiting to take their place – is almost as shameful as the USA's inaction on all of this.

Even Scott 'Fucking' Jennings has turned against him on this 'Russia bad, Ukraine good' which says something, although that's likely about him not getting the Press Sec job, still interesting!

The midterms! Its 3 weeks away, and potentially the beginning of the end Or, he doubles-down and things get crazier - and this incident will have fallen from memory. Like all the other things he's done...

Although I agree with you - I wouldn’t appreciate foreigners commenting on my domestic politicians, however dreadful I may find them, so I try not to comment on foreign politicians.

As I have said on here before. How much has Putin promised Trump? What untold riches is he waiting for? And will the American state be strong enough to prosecute the lot of them?
