This year I joined the editorial team of @jcre.bsky.social, the Journal of Comments and Replications in Economics (JCRE) as a Co-Editor. I'm especially happy that the first submission I handled from start to finish has now been published—together with a reply from the original authors.

Replication studies typically require considerably more work during peer review than standard submissions. Editors and reviewers often need to read not only the replication, but also the original paper, and there may be exchange between the replicating and original authors.

That additional effort is well worth it. Replications are a cornerstone of scientific progress, yet there have long been too few dedicated publication outlets for them. That's one of the main reasons I was happy to join @jcre.bsky.social as a Co-Editor.

If you have a replication study or a substantive comment on published research, we'd be delighted to receive your submission.
