As someone “long enough in the tooth” to remember Réné Lévesque as a Quebec Liberal cabinet minister; FLQ bombings; the October Crisis; Lévésque founding the PQ; forming a majority govt; the 1980 referendum. . . any comparison of Sylvestre, Rath et al to Québec’s independence movement is nonsense.

Yes, everybody sees what Smith is doing: trying to graft onto a ‘movement’ that consists of a small group of unelected malcontents the tactics and vocabulary of a society in which a minority of wealthy Anglos subjugated the Francophone majority for two centuries plus. It’s part of Smith’s grift.
