What the hell is going on with this latest round of Windows 11 patches? First they say Outlook might not run, then PCs weren't able to be shut off, now they're saying some might not boot at all... they've issued two patches to the patch so far. It's nuts, are they slop coding the OS now, too?

Jeff you were totally spot on on your podcast lately when you were talking about a windows to linux tipping point. I still use windows on my ARM laptop out of necessity but I switched my gaming PC to Manjaro the other week and have no regrets. Windows takes too much effort to unfuck now.

Yeah. Hence why i returned back to win10 and it has been smooth ever since. Support lasts until 2032 so by then I hope SteamOS has cornered the market so i can play my favorite games in Linux 🫣

They on insiders to do testing on Windows preview builds. Maybe these people are tired of messing around testing the OS and aren't showing up for insider builds anymore? I'm curious to know the balance. MS reduced internal QA when insider started. Maybe a result of MS mandating AI use in daily work?

I have very strong suspicions it was a Windows 11 update that fucked my hard drive and made me lose a bunch of work (but my bad for not backing up regularly). I am mostly Linux on main now. It hasn't been bad, but it has not been a 1-for-1 replacement from the Windows environment in everything.

Also, I'm pretty sure their constant pseudo-update nags on Windows 10 are an attempt to effectively brick them. Why do you keep bugging me? You've already determined my laptop can't be upgraded to 11.

they must be. huge opportunity for the SteamOS version of linux to make a full and proper takeover. windows has been too slow and bloated for a long time now anyway.

I mean when your CEO says approximately 30% of your code is being written by AI, I assume that's 30% of *all* coding projects including the already extremely volatile OS.
