At the risk of starting the flame war to end all flame wars... Modern LLMs (GPT-5.1, Claude 4.5, Gemini 3) produce excellent code and can be a significant productivity boost to software engineers who take the time to learn how to effectively apply them - especially if used with coding agent tools

I’ve had some moderate success with agentic loops in solo projects, but have a lot more failure in Real Work Projects™️ with lots of contributors and history and tons of hidden context Still useful for sketching solutions or asking questions of the codebase! But far short of a lot of the hype

That's an interesting point. I'm in a 4 person company so, by default, we tend to work in silos so all of my experience (which is good) has been in single-person projects
