I recall reading a news article about a dude that robbed a bunch of hotel rooms in Minneapolis. One of the rooms belonged to a track visiting from out of town for a meet. They chased him but kept their distance when he brandished a knife.

He finally threw the money away and screamed: "KEEP THE MONEY!! STOP FOLLOWING ME!!" The sprinters called the cops while the marathoners kept pace with the crook. The crook was almost pathetically thankful when the patrol car showed up to give him *a ride* to jail.

When GBS Sports was on Grand Avenue in Saint Paul, a kid stole a pair of shoes, running out the door. Among the staff on hand: a 2:13 marathoner and a 14 minute 5K runner. The kid didn't stand a chance.
