Is the Android community still alive in any social network? Every time I ask about this people say it’s mostly BlueSky but I see people highly inactive here. I wonder if I’m not following the right people

I feel the same way. But, at the same time, I find my own behaviour inconsistent. I’d like to share something, but I don’t because I don’t think what I’m doing is anything special. So I’m actually part of that lack of activity in the community, even though I think there isn’t enough going on… 🥹

I think there's a general burnout with social media. People here seem to be taking it slow and are just generally disinterested in the pissing contest that is the norm on X

I don't have the same sense of helpnessness but I do feel like everything has quieted down as people are more and more isolated and vibe coding "good enough" solutions for themselves

As I said, I think it's a lot of social burnout. I see people more active in smaller, semi-private circles. And of course, what the X-shittification diaspora did not do, AI has now done. I feel like in general it's been several years the old guard has grown out of it and there is no new guard coming

It is not even a new thing. It probably traces back to COVID being a moment for visible people in the community to detach from the frenzy and many never really getting back into it. There are huge holes left behind. Nobody new to fill them.

That’s what I wonder. I’m not sure why but there was a moment where the community diluted forever. And it was exactly the moment when everyone moved from X to other places like Mastodon and BlueSky.
