Meta took down the No Kings instagram; TikTok banned the Musk documentary account for supposedly violating its political posting policies. A reminder that platforms are owned by the wealthiest of people, control the means of media distribution, & put their thumbs on the democracy scale as they wish

You mean the guys getting the biggest Tax Cuts, who bribed the President, are helping to support propaganda and a Pedophile Criminal? Support Tesla, Amazon and Facebook and you support the protecting of Pedophiles!

Those who give business to Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Threads) or to TikTok (Ellisons) should KNOW that they are enriching malign oligarchs who seek to kill off human rights and democracy. These oligarchs envision a fascist, totalitarian future--because they see 'safety' for themselves in control.

I’ve left all the meta platforms, and it just about cut me off from the community calendar. Meta bought its users’ dependence with not so free, addictive services. The users are the product now, have been for a while.

Meta locked No Kings out at peak and called it “in error.” Lula’s camp says his posts were throttled, and Brazil’s electoral court told Meta Thursday not to limit political reach. Same pattern: the platform decides, we get an apology. #Bluesky #DeleteMeta

And something to consider in the future is the more these private corporations own the more infringements upon our Constitutional rights they can enact. Say, if you practice a religion they disagree with, they will have the power to deny you service. Not difficult to see their plans for our future.

There is only one response they’ll understand. #BoycottMeta #BoycottInsta #BoycottX Even one day will be noticed. Just don’t open it. Delete the app. Something. They can’t ignore millions of users not using their platforms.

an alternative? for me bsky is that alternative but lacks features fb had….& fb users to know what is happening bcuz fb not telling them & they aren’t on bsky
