There are some songs that fill me with so much emotion I literally shut down (or reboot?) like I cannot move or continue what I was doing. Frisson, my mind fills with images, sometimes I tear up and it's unstoppable. One of the best things about having been born a human (this time around I guess?)

It's like the opposite of nausea? There's probably at least 10 different terms for this in every language other than english

Do you have any recommendations? I know there are some songs that feel that way for me, and I’m actually always worried in the back of my head that someday they’ll just be like any other song, or worse, feel simply commonplace rather than all encompassing.

Here's one song I haven't heard in a long time that hit me hard recently. There's a handful of songs in their earlier discography that effect me like this for a variety of reasons. I know the genre and vocals are not everyone's cup of tea but 🤷 www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVoF...

Oh, man, that's an incredible song, quite a gut punch. I received "Postcards from Italy" in a back-to-school compilation just before heading off to college, and treasured that one, but never really explored Beirut--but what a voice, I'll have to check out their albums now. Love that forlorn sound.

Postcards from Italy is one of my favorite songs of all time, omfg 😩♥️ Such a gut punch of emotion but so joyous at the same time. That's another one that will wreck me if it catches me off-guard but I won't not be able to dance
