A new study has found that Chattanooga, Tennessee's decision to build their own affordable community-owned fiber broadband network has driven $5.3 billion in economic benefits back to the community. From my colleague and friend @seangon.bsky.social:

Comcast tried repeatedly to destroy the Chattanooga network, whether it was lawsuits, fake disinformation spread among locals by fake "consumer groups," or bullshit lies and distortions spread by all the "Libertarian free market" think tanks they fund

I've always believed that the Internet should be considered a utility, and run similarly to electrical utilities.
