have literally any of these guys shown themselves to be above such an act?

ayup good thing our crackshot tech press is on it

I've been saying this the whole time: air-gap If we can learn one lesson from the movie The Lawnmower Man then let it be that if an AI is stuck in one place and it wants to get out, don't assume that software is going to keep it in place. (Yes, I know it's a horrible movie but I think in scripts)

Piling a bunch of algorithmically generated conditionals on top of a large database of hacks doesn't mean you created "AI," it means you created an automated hacking script and you broke the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.

OpenAI did two companies, so Anthropic has to do three? Too cute by half

you realize airgapping would mean putting the weights onto the machine right

It is intentional, and we fall for this shit every time. You told your llm to hack something and it did. Congrats

Their using claude as a shield for them just hacking people watch

whoops we made the stupidity singularity

And by "accidentally hacked" that means some human pressed "Yes execute this command I can't be bothered to read it".
