People are complaining about "everything can be used" because @bsky.app is using the open #atproto. Okay. How about encrypted messages which can be only decrypted when the reader has the key 🤔 The system can stay open but messages can be private 🤔 300 chars would be enough or (1/2)

you could technically extend the proto and give the posts a flag (encrypted) while the decryption process would need the key which would be saved within the profile. In that way the protocol stays open. Nothing needs to be changed on the eco system 😇

Awesome idea It would probably take some time for Bsky devs to figure it out but doesn’t seem like too much of a hassle to integrate into atproto It’s nice to see people actually proposing real solutions instead of harassing and shitting on ML researchers
